WELCOME!

A Message from the Artistic Director

Choral music is a vital part of our community and of our world. There is nothing more vital, or more impactful than singing together, especially when young people raise their voices in song. Think for a moment, if everyone took the time to listen more than they speak, if we led by example, with kindness, and worked as a team, with every member feeling valued, what a different world we’d have.  These values are at the core of our mission and are fostered in every rehearsal at the Oakville Choir for Children and Youth. Our mission is to help young people to find their voice. And then, make the world a better place in their own, unique, and vital way.

Looking ahead to our 2023/2024 season,  we are thrilled to be celebrating our 30th anniversary! For 30 years, the OC has been helping young people find their voices, both as musicians and as young leaders. We invite you to explore our new website, discover our new ensemble names, and find a place where you belong in our community. We are looking forward to the future and we hope to inspire, uplift and empower our choristers, our families, and our community.

Yours in song,

Maria

“As a mother of girls who have grown up singing (and now leading younger ones!) in the Oakville Choir, we have grown to appreciate and admire the confidence and charisma the OC has fostered in our children.  What starts as a group of youngsters singing and dancing quickly blossoms into young adults who sing with courage and go on to become fearless leaders.  We wholeheartedly support the OC and all that it brings to our family and community.”
